This unit is listed at exactly 35 inches wide by the manufacturer. The fit would greatly depend on how square your fireplace is and if your fireplace tapers towards the rear.

Just what we needed after we could no longer use our wood burning fireplace. Fit beautifully into our fireplace opening. Surround piece completed the fit perfectly. Blower is quiet & features work well. Realistic for most part. Wish logs would have been placed more aesthetically. Warms the room nicely. We are enjoying the ambiance !
