Do the lids on these snap on tightly?

The lid on this item is indeed designed to provide a tight friction fit. However, a large enough impact could still cause the lid to pop loose during transportation. I recommend securing the bin with a bungee or strap to prevent it tipping when it is full.

Can this be used to hold 40 lbs of pellets?

The size and construction of this ash bin will likely not allow it to carry a full 40 pounds of wood pellets. My recommendation would be to fill the bin with no more than 25 pounds.

Nice to Have Close By
