Is it possible to take one of the panels off to make a smaller width screen?

How wide is each panel of this UniFlame 4 fold mini black fireplace screen and are the 2 middle panels wider than the end ones? If so, that may allow me to "modify" it by removing the end panels and just using the middle 2.

There would not be a way to modify this screen and each panel is 13" wide. The Pilgrim Matte Black Traditional Fireplace Spark Guard - 31 Inch x 31 Inch would appear to be a suitable option.

Thwarts a Curious Cat
A curious cat and a propane wall heater are not a very good combination. I had visions of singed whiskers or worse. This screen protects both the cat and the heater from unwanted attention, and it looks really nice too.

A Little Wobbly
This screen is a perfect match for the size of our fireplace. Unfortunately, our hearth is not even, which makes the screen wobble a bit. We're still trying to solve that problem. Other than that issue, it does a great job of protecting our floor from stray sparks or coals and looks quite nice at the same time.

Protects the Wood Floor
I have a wood floor in front of my fireplace and was concerned about singe marks or worse from pieces jumping out of the fire. This screen eliminates that concern completely. The design is very nice and goes extremely well with my fireplace. I really like this screen.

Protects the Kitten
We have a gas log fireplace, and, in an effort to enjoy its warmth, our small kitten tends to curl up much too close to it. This screen keeps her at a safe distance. It is well made also. We are very impressed with this product.
