Can the liner be used for an 8-inch wood stovepipe?
Flexible stainless steel pipe cannot be used outside of a masonry enclosure in place of rigid stove pipe. Stainless steel rigid liner and stainless stove pipe, such as Dura Black SS series, can be used as stove pipe.

Would a 5" SS liner have the ability to fit through an 8"x12" and bend 90 degrees through a 6" opening?
The liner should have no problem going down the chimney opening. However, it will not make the 90-degree bend. It will require the use of a tee with takeoff to be installed, such as the Duraflex SS Tee w/ Clamp.

About Chimney Liners

You may have a chimney liner if you have a masonry fireplace or a fireplace insert. Chimney liners protect the inside of older chimneys from the damage of time. A chimney liner kit may be constructed of a few different materials, but the stainless steel chimney liner is probably the most common. Specific fireplaces have specific needs for their chimney liners. If you have any questions about a chimney liner for your fireplace, please ask one of our NFI-certified technicians!
