Adding a damper to your fireplace flue is a great way to save money and greatly impact your utility bill. The Lyemance Square Top Mount Energy-Saving Chimney Damper mounts to the top of your chimney flue tile via a simple, durable adhesive. This simple tool uses a silicone gasket and spring system to seal your chimney when you aren't using your fireplace, ensuring that you aren't losing precious treated air up your flue in the winter and summertime. This damper also seals out rain and wildlife, which helps extend the life of your flue tile.
Please Note: We don't recommend using top-sealing dampers with gas logs - failure to open could cause carbon monoxide to back up into the house.

Unfortunately, this damper only has settings for completely open or closed.

Yes, a squirrel could potentially get down your chimney but you could add this cap over the damper.

Nice External Flue
I currently live in Chicago, and had been noticing that I was experiencing some drafts coming in from my fireplace. I made the decision to try out this external flue to stop the drafts from entering my home from the chimney. The original flue wasn?t working very well, but the external flue stops the wind very effectively. This is really an amazing product, and does a very good job at keeping the drafts out of my home.
