    Patrick
    from Scituate, MA asked:
    January 9, 2016
Is it normal for this Heat Fab welded black stovepipe oval to round offset connection boot for Vermont Castings stoves to give off an odd odor during the 1st burn? If yes, is it harmful to breath in?
    1 Answer
The high temperature paint will indeed give off an odor and a slight haze when curing. The odor is non-toxic and will dissipate soon after. I recommend cracking a window to help with the odor during the initial burn in.
