Can this snorkel replace 18' of exterior verticle oval vent for a Williams 75000 wall heater with a 90 degree straight exhaustion pipe of 9' from the furnace?
    1 Answers
Typically, this snorkel is only meant to elevate the termination of a direct vent fireplace or furnace that is installed below grade.

    from Parkersburg, IA asked:

Does the snorkel vent need to be installed on the wood wall and siding around it, or can it be used over the top of existing siding with a universal thimble where it goes through the wall and hi-temp caulk to seal it all up?
    1 Answers
Ideally, the snorkel would be installed on the unsided wall, then siding would be installed up against either side of the snorkel housing. However, it is perfectly acceptable to install the snorkel on top of wood siding. As you mention, it will be necessary to seal around the thimble flashing, as it will not lay flat against the angled siding slats.
