*Venting Requirements: This unit requires venting pipe with an inner diameter of 6 Inches. Please see the Venting Components section on this page if available for venting pipe that must be used with this unit. Connecting wood burning stoves to DuraTech and DuraPlus factory built chimneys is a snap with this double wall stovepipe. This stove pipe has a .016 in. stainless steel inner wall and an .018 in. aluminized steel outer wall, and easily joins with other Dura-Vent DVL black stovepipe products. This stove pipe also reduces clearance to combustibles to 6 in. for walls, and 8 in. for ceilings and comes with a 25 year warranty. |

Could one use the above double wall black stovepipe to go through a wall thimble?

Double wall stovepipe is not rated to go through a wall thimble. You would need Class A chimney for any venting that passes through the wall and on the outside of the structure.

If one had an extra dura-vent DVL 6 inch double wall black stovepipe could you use that as the "outside" chimney?

I would recommend this item to a friend.
Dura-Vent DVL 6-inch and other complementary parts.
Worked as advertised -the double wall feature allows me to install it and similar parts in a very tight space.
