Copperfield 18 Inch Stainless Steel Radiant Fireplace Fireback

I wanted more heat and to stop replacing my fire box panels so I purchased this fireback. I still have not seen the bolstered increased warmth coming off the fireplace, but it has helped in protecting the back of the fireplace from damage.

Definitely reflects more heat than the cast iron one did. Didn't like the shiny finish so I took an angle grinder, made some swirly pattern, and then flame painted it with a torch. A real review on this kind of item shouldn't be done for at least a couple of seasons.

Works very well and reflects heat great

Product came well protected in shipping. It seems to be strong (thick enough) metal, well made. It made a noticeable difference in heat production.

The panel warped after one fire, but I just assume it's because I leaned the firewood up against the panel - somewhat a necessity for my fireplace. Not a big deal.

I purchased this item for two reasons. First to help protect the aging process of my 50 year old firebox. Too soon to know results. Second to provide reflective heat into the room. There is some added benefit, but not as much as I had hoped for. Maybe should have purchased a cast iron fireback instead.

it is doing the job.

We have a wood burning fireplace. Since some of the large wood logs were falling back against the brick, we noticed slight lines in the brick giving in....so we bought this Radiant Fireback. We selected the 20" x 20". So far we are happy with it, it does protect the back wall, we do not use the legs as it makes hard to clean the ashes. It does need to be taken out and cleaned, as the fire gets it smoky and black, but that's life.... It does work protecting the back wall from cracking... and that was what we needed. We do plan to buy the grate with the blowers to get more heat into the living room.

Works well and provides a bit more heat within my living room.

Product is as described, delivered quickly. Reflector has really made a big difference in the heat from the fireplace!!

We are quite please with our fireback. Although it does not reflect quite as much heat as we had hoped, we think a good part of this is because our ancient log set needs to be replaced. We expect to have much better heat distribution into the room when we correct this issue. The unit was easy to install and does add a very nice glow to the fireplace. We are glad we made the purchase.

My fireplace is small so this was the largest fireback that would fit. After reinstalling the grate and fake logs in my gas-burning fireplace, there wasn't much of the fireback left exposed to do any good. In hindsight a fireback with side panels would be much better as the larger surface area would reflect much more heat.

I bought this to help protect my refractory liner....and so far so good. It seems to kick more heat out into the room...glad I bought

After having to replace my back refractory panel, I read that firebacks not only projected more heat but also protected the back panel. The price for this steel unit was right so I decided to give it a try. At first i was put off by the shiny stainless steel, however; the fire soot soon darkened the surface. The stands work well and there is no danger of the fireback tipping over. The steel is a thick guage and the edges are beveled to reduce the buckling caused by the heat of the fire. Even with the edge bevels, there is a some buckling to the fireback. It is easy to see by the fact that the support stands are no longer parellel. This occurred after the first extended fire. I suppose the general function of the fireback has not been impacted, and the buckling has not gotten worse over a winter of fires, however; I may go with a thicker cast iron fireback. Don't get me wrong, the fireback is sturdy and should last for several years, and, given the price, is better than not having anything. Also it does put out noticeably more heat.

I wanted to get more our of my fireplace. After reviewing articles and many statements on the internet I decided to purchase the Copperfield stainless steel radiant fireback. It was shipped well, very easy to install and I noticed the improvement immediately. I can feel the heat from much further away now, which is exactly what I wanted. It will also protect the rear wall of my fireplace, which is almost 100 years old. I'm extremely happy with my decision and the product I purchased from here and their superior service.
