Customer Q&A with Product Specialists
David G.
from PAEquinunk, asked:
Hi, does this box allow an 8-inch Selkirk double-wall insulated pipe to pass through from top to bottom?
The Selkirk SuperPro 17 Inch Tall Cathedral Ceiling Support Box is designed for Selkirk SuperPro chimney pipe with an 8-inch inner diameter. SuperPro chimney sections are installed above the support box. If your pipe is an 8-inch (inner diameter) Selkirk SuperPro model, this is the correct support box. Ceiling support boxes are specific to a single manufacturer's pipe system, so compatibility depends on the pipe brand and model, not just the diameter. Selkirk also produces other double-wall pipes, such as DSP stove pipe, which is a different product. An 8-inch outer diameter measurement would indicate a smaller pipe than an 8-inch inner diameter. Please confirm the exact pipe name or model printed on your Selkirk pipe and specify whether the 8 inches refers to the inner or outer diameter. You can also consult the installation details in the SuperPro manual.
