Though it's fueled by natural gas, the Empire BVP42FP30LN Keystone Premium B-Vent 42-inch Fireplace gives the appearance of a wood-burning fireplace-complete with ever glowing embers and dancing flames.
Venting Requirements: This item requires a chimney with 6" inner diameter.

I am interested in this model fireplace. Does this unit require fire rated materials below and around it. In our application it would be mounted inside the room on an exterior wall, the b-vent can go straight up through the roof.
