The Empire Tahoe Luxury Clean Face Direct-Vent Multi-Function IPI Traditional Fireplace looks like a site built fireplace, but offers the convenience of a gas installation. This direct-vent fireplace includes a heat-resistant ceramic front and multi-function remote for easy operation from anywhere in the room. Sit back and relax as the automatic blower circulates the warmth of up to 40,000 BTUs of heat. The intermittent-pilot light saves energy because it does not stay continuously lit. The top-vent design draws air from outdoors, relying on a wall installation with a single hole. Any direct-vent fireplace requires the use of a protective screen any time a fire is lit to prevent injury from contact with the hot glass.
Venting Requirements: This item requires a chimney with 5" inner diameter.

Yes, there is a battery backup that will operate the fireplace, however, the blower will not work during a power outage.

I was wondering if I purchase the Empire Tahoe Luxury Clean Face Direct-Vent Multi-Function Fireplace in the 42 Inch size is the Pearl Mantels 140-56 Classique 56" Fireplace Mantel the correct size mantel to purchase with it?
Unfortunately, no, the Tahoe Luxury Clean Face models require about 19" of clearance from the top of the fireplace's glass front to the bottom of a combustible mantel. The Classique mantels have an opening height of 42", which is only about 11" above that mark. Due to its height, we do not offer any mantels with a tall enough opening height for the Tahoe Luxury Clean Face series. You may consider having a mantel custom-made to the required clearances.

This uses DuraVent Direct Vent Pro pipe.
