This unit can be vented from the side. It has a reversible flue collar, so the exhaust can exit from the top or side. You can see more information about venting options in the manual on pages 14 through 22. You can view the manual here.

No, but this vent free Kingsman model, Barbara Jean 48 inch, is one that you may consider.
