Does this unit have an intermittent pilot system?
This unit will operate in a power outage, as long as you have batteries in the remote control receiver underneath the fireplace. The remote and burner will still work, but the fan kit will not, as it can only run on the 120v house power. You will still get the same amount of BTUs, but it will take longer to circulate the heat.
