What is the difference between the VFD32FB0F and the VFD32FB0L?

The difference between the firebox in question which is either the VFD32FB2MF or VFD32FB2ML depending on your preference in a louvered or non-louvered front is that this particular version includes a refractory interior liner at no additional cost while the standard VFD32FB0F (flush front) or VFD32FB0L (louvered front) models have no interior liner included.

What is the but heat output of this unit? Is there a there a thermostat?

This is simply a ventless firebox that is listed for use with any ventless natural gas or liquid propane gas log set of your choosing that has minimum hearth requirements corresponding to the firebox opening measurements (front width, back width, depth, and height).
