The logs themselves will not glow, only the glowing embers placed at the base of the log set will provide this effect.

It says there is a 3 position knob. Is that 3 different burning levels or does that include the pilot light?

For a detail of the control knob, please refer to page 21 of the installation manual, which you can find here. Three heat settings can be selected by slightly depressing the manual gas control knob and turning the manual gas control knob counterclockwise to 1, 2 or 3.

Can you get a remote for this set of logs?

No, this particular set cannot add a remote control, but the Flint Hill log set does offer a remote-ready burner kit. Please see the Empire 24" Flint Hill Ceramic Fiber Ventless Propane Gas Log Set and Millivolt Contour Burner. For that set, a remote control must be purchased separately.

Had a timber line fire log in the fire place that this replaced I tried to put in some time ago. really struggled with the hook up got some help from my propane suppler worked well. This one I put in and using it in 2 hours or less works and looks great. Wish I would have got the remote to.
