Customer Q&A with Product Specialists
Alec
from asked:
Can this unit work with an existing Nest thermostat?
Unfortunately, these types of fireplaces cannot connect to a nest thermostat system. They are designed to work primarily off of millivolt thermostats or wireless millivolt remotes that would operate independently of your home's HVAC thermostat or Nest thermostat.

Can the louvers on the front of this Empire fireplace be loft out or covered by a stone surround so that only the thin metal frame is exposed?
The louvers on this fireplace must remain uncovered. This is for circulation purposes as well as to allow the access panel to be available for operation.
