What are the electrical requirements (voltage/amperage) for this fireplace, and does it require direct wiring or a plug-in connection?
This fireplace requires a dedicated, properly-fused 15 amp circuit. As shipped, it includes a glass and plug kit configured for a standard 120V outlet, drawing up to 1,300 watts (4,400 BTUs). An extension cord cannot be used with this unit. For higher heat output (up to 1,975 watts at 208V or 2,575 watts at 240V), it can be installed on a 208V or 240V circuit. These higher voltage configurations require direct wiring to a junction box, and installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in compliance with local and national electrical codes. Full details are available in the Owners Manual.
