Does this unit allow the heat function to be disabled by disconnecting the jumper cable and then using the fireplace without heat and then not need separate wiring to the fuse box, and if I do operate with shared wiring to the fuse box (i.e. a tv) does this violate the warranty?

Altering the wiring will void any warranty that the manufacturer provides. However, you can simply shut off the heat function of this unit via the command center of the fireplace. The description of the different functions is listed on page 6 of the owner's manual.

No. However, you can add the optional Dimplex BFRC-KIT 3-Stage Remote Control Kit, which will allow you to turn the fireplace on and off and cycle through options such as flame with no heat, flame with heat, and flame with heat and the Purifire effect.

Easy install on a nice fireplace
Easy to follow instructions and a nice visual flame. Voltage selector and mounting was simple.
Remote control (or wall mount) is a must with a solid glass door. Remote was easy to plug in.
Heater fan is on the loud side.

Visually Appealing with Warmth!
This is a great looking fireplace ideal for the space on the wall you don't know what to do with and it also not only completes your space but literally adds warmth to the space as well!
It didn't come with glass. you have to order that separately.
