This unit is capable of venting directly from the rear and out the wall.

The interior would be a satin black painted steel if you do not add an optional liner. The main photo of this unit on the item page is pictured without interior liners.

In wall is a term to describe the typical installation during new construction or a remodel. This type of description does not work in an existing fireplace/chimney.
