Empire's infrared and blue flame wall heaters are vent-free. They are recommended for use at 2,000 ft elevation or below. If you are above 2,000 ft, here is the excerpt from the manual on deregulating the unit: For altitudes/elevations above 2,000 feet (610m), ratings should be reduced at the rate of 4 percent for every 1,000 feet (305m) above sea level. Contact the manufacturer or your gas company before changing the spud/orifice size.

Yes, this should suffice to heat that space. The spec sheet lists that this appliance will heat 938 square feet with 8-foot ceilings.
