    Does this unit have a thermostat? Or is it just on or off?

    This unit has a manual heat control and cannot use a thermostat. Empire's 6,000 BTU units are manual, but you can get a 10,000 BTU model with built-in thermostat control.

    Will this heater work at 550 feet of elevation and can you get a thermostat heater control for it?
