My previous contractor installed model number VFLB36FP30N-3 and serial number 232125739 in my bedroom. However, the tag states that it should not be installed in a bedroom. What issues does this pose, and why was it not supposed to be installed in the bedroom?
By code, the maximum BTU for a vent-free appliance in a bedroom should not exceed 10,000 BTU. The unit you have is 28,000 BTU and should not have been installed in this scenario.

Does the Empire 36 inch Boulevard linear have the same possibility of no framing or partial recess as the 30 inch?
The 36" version needs to be recessed into the wall/framing. It does not allow a partial or wall mount installation.
