What is the purpose of the burner glass?
1 Answer
It is strongly recommended to use the burner glass in the Boulevard fireplace. It shields the burner and pilot assembly from air currents or drafts that can cause delayed ignitions at the burner.

can I TV be mounted above this fireplace? What would be the recommended distance between the TV and the firedplace, and the TV and a mantel between the two?

The manufacturer does not list any height requirements for mounting a television above this appliance. However, you can find the mantle clearance requirements on page 17 of this manual.

Can I put a picture window over the unit. How much spacing does it need?

This cannot be recommended, as there will be a large amount of heat rising from the fireplace to the area just above. When a customer is installing a television, for example, we always recommend installing a mantel shelf above the fireplace (in accordance with the minimum requirements) with the television above that.

What does "Intermittent Pilot" mean?

The intermittent pilot light is an electric system, designed to combat some of the biggest flaws of the standing pilot. Rather than keep a flame burning all the time, the intermittent pilot only lights when needed. The system responds to the command for heat by using an electric spark to ignite the flame.

Highly recommended!
The thermostatically controlled intermittent pilot unit is amazingly economical, with no wasting gas. It heats up in seconds; simply set the temp you want on the remote and forget it. Just sit back and let it do its job. It is a safe unit when installed as instructed and operated properly.
