Does the base unit come with a firebox liner, or must you purchase one of the options?
This unit comes with a matte black interior. A liner is not required, but options are available if you prefer a different look. Empire offers aged brick, limestone, banded brick, and reflective black interior options for this fireplace.

The current generation of this unit does, in fact, include the VBS36SBL in black finish. You do not need to purchase it separately.
