What is an intermittent pilot as opposed to other pilots?
Intermittent pilot ignition is when a pilot is lit automatically when the fireplace is turned on by the switch, remote, or thermostat. Millivolt and manual pilot models have a continuously lit pilot. On a millivolt or manual system, you would have to ignite the pilot manually and it remains lit.

Does the base unit come with a firebox liner, or must you purchase one of the options?
This unit comes with a matte black interior. A liner is not required, but options are available if you prefer a different look. Empire offers aged brick, limestone, banded brick, and reflective black interior options for this fireplace.

Vail Fireplace: Warms Well
The fireplace generates good heat and looks nice when installed. Be aware of the add-ons: brick backing, glowing embers, and remote control. They're essential for the complete look and feel.
