This kit is the manual control version, operated by hand at the valve with a standing pilot. It is not remote or wall switch capable. If you wish to operate the flames with a switch or remote, the same burner and log set is offered in a millivolt control version: EverWarm 24/30 Inch Vent Free Gas Burner with 30 Inch Low Country Timber Logs - Millivolt. A millivolt valve accepts an add-on remote or wall switch, which are sold separately.

No additional materials such as lava rocks, glass pieces, pine cones, or other ornaments should be added to this burner and log set. The EverWarm installation and operation manual explicitly states that adding such items can cause sooting and other combustion issues. Fire glass is also not compatible, as this vent-free burner is not designed to operate with a bed of glass. Vent-free burners are certified as complete systems with a specific, approved media arrangement. Introducing foreign materials can disrupt the flame pattern, leading to sooting, odors, and potentially carbon monoxide from incomplete combustion. The only approved media for this set are the supplied logs, which must be positioned according to the manual's instructions.
