We try to use the main heat as little as we can. A great alternative is our gas stove. I love to push the on button on the remote next to our bed when I wake up to warm up the bedroom. When going to sleep, I love to go to sleep with the fire on and use the 30 minute timer on the remote. Great for romance too!

Easy to install and use

I really like this item. The timer feature enables me to control our gas fireplace from my bed without fear of accidentally going to sleep with it still on. I just set the timer to sound every 15 minutes. I highly recommend this item for both its remote and timer features.

This battery-powered remote is genuinely innovative! Both the remote and receiver run on batteries, so they are independent of home electrical current. The only down side is having to replace batteries annually. The system uses non-directional radio frequencies that have a 20 foot range, and each unit is programmed with a unique security code at the factory. It has other great features like a thermometer that reads ambient temperature in the room, and a timer you can set anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours. It is so handy to be able to set the timer and go to sleep knowing that I wont have to get out of bed to turn it off. This system works well, and I can't recommend it enough!

This product works exactly as advertised. It does what its supposed to do, and I am very happy with it.

The remote for our fireplace broke, and I did not want to pay the high cost of a replacement. This one has made a great substitute. It only took about five minutes to hook up the wires and install the batteries. This is a great product.

I replaced the old wall switch for my fireplace with this remote set, and it is a huge improvement. I am getting spoiled by all the great features, but mostly that I can lie in bed and turn the fireplace on and off. It is so luxurious! I like that I can set a timer so I don't have to worry about turning the FP off if I fall asleep. Also, it has an automatic shut-off if the remote gets too far away. I believe this is for safety so that if the remote gets lost or damaged your FP will not continue to burn. There is also a manual override on the wall plate.

We bought this unit specifically for the timer which we wanted for our bedroom fireplace. It was easy to install and the remote works great! There is a handy temperature reading on the remote, and we can set the timer in 15 minute increments. We used it all winter with no problems.

We had bought logs 5 yrs ago and the remote had become 'sometimes', it worked sometimes and sometimes it don't. Anyway it finally just stopped working. We found they no longer have the remote. So then we began looking for universal remotes. I called one company to ask questions and they were SOOOO rude. It was as if I was an inconvenience for their day. We found this one and I asked questions via email, but they answered them all. My hubby was able to change the receiver himself. It works great and we like the fact that this one has a timer. We had a gas fire insert put in our home a couple of years ago with the remote control. The control system failed to work this season so I purchased the same replacement. Installation was very easy.Not sure why the first one died, but assume it is due to being close heat source

I replaced the standard wall switch on my fireplace with this system. It was easy to install and works well. I wish that I could use a universal remote with it, but the radio frequency remote has its benefits as well since it does not need line-of-sight. It was a little more expensive than I was hoping, but overall a good purchase.

This remote displays the room temperature, but it does not control the fireplace based on it. This missing feature makes no sense to me, since it seems so basic and is included on many similar remotes. If it had this ability, it would be a great product, but as it is, I am quite frustrated.

This is a great product; it is easy to install, works well, and even includes batteries so it is ready to use straight out of the box. It will work on almost any new gas fireplace. It is convenient saves a trip out of bed to turn off the FP, or you can simply set the timer and it will shut off automatically.

The installation for this remote was simple. We replaced a faulty on/off switch for our fireplace with this unit and it works great. No more getting out of bed to turn off the fireplace. We just set the timer, enjoy the fire, and fall asleep. The automatic shutoff gives us peace of mind.
