This hand held remote control unit by SkyTech is appropriate for use with gas hearth appliances that use Millivolt valves or electronic spark ignition systems. It uses a backlit LCD display and touch screen technology and features a flame on/off icon and a low battery indicator as well as thermostatic control and a 9-hour countdown timer. There is a child safety lock out. It is battery operated. The remote control carries a limited lifetime warranty.

What if the remote is not working after replacing the batteries?
If you have replaced all batteries in the remote and receiver box, try to resync the remote to the receiver box. On the receiver, there will be a learn button. Press the learn button and then the power button on your remote to restore communication.

How do you change the temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit?
The factory setting for temperature is F. To change this setting to C, first press and hold the UP button and the DOWN button on the transmitter at the same time. Follow this same procedure to change from C back to F. When changing between the F and C scales, the temperature in the SET frame defaults to the lowest temperature (450 F, or 60 C). The highest SET temperature is 990 Fahrenheit (320 Celsius).

Best Fireplace Remote Yet
I purchased this remote to go along with my purchase of the "Athens" arched fireplace with the cherry wood bookcase surround. I have two other gas fireplaces with remotes. I bought the best remotes available when I purchased these other two fireplaces and never regretted. it. They are relatively easy and straight-forward to program and use. That being said, this touch screen model is the easiest one yet and a worthwhile improvement over the older remotes in terms of intuitive, easy use. The touch screen bypasses or eliminates some of the additional buttons found on older remotes which gives you direct access to features without having to figure out which button or sequence/combination of buttons to use as on older remotes. I don't know why one would consider any other type of fireplace control, be it wall thermostat, manual operation, etc. If you're going to spring for a nice gas fireplace, you'll enjoy it even more with this remote control.
