If your fireplace has perforated knockout areas in the metal tray below the burner assembly, then grab this kit and knock those suckers out. This kit comes with two manual switch operated halogen lamps, which when placed in the pockets left behind by the knockouts, will connect to the power in the bottom of the unit. This backlighting kit will beautifully accent your fireplace when it is not in use and can provide a unique display effect to Kingsman Fireplaces that have glass media installations.

Can this be installed after the fireplace has be installed or does it need to be done before?

Typically, it needs to be done before installation, because, afterward, it may necessitate removing the fireplace from the framed enclosure.
