Gary S. from WA asked:
Can this fan be used vertically?
Can this fan be used vertically?
Yes, the Lasko 24 Inch Residential Twin Window Fan is designed for vertical slider-type windows, casement windows, and standard double-hung windows. To install it in a vertical or casement window, position the fan in the window with the switch facing the center of the opening. Seat the fan securely against the inside edge of the window opening, then slide the expandable window panel out to meet the edge of the window so that the side edge of the window fits securely inside the window grabber. Ensure your window screen remains in place. For openings wider than 35 inches, you will need to build a plywood panel to fill the remaining open area and secure it to the fan and window frame. For casement windows wider than 12 inches, build a plywood frame around the fan and secure that frame to both the fan and the window frame. These installation details are further explained in the Lasko W09560 manual under the section "FOR VERTICAL, SLIDER-TYPE WINDOWS, and CASEMENT WINDOWS." Additionally, the fan includes two snap-on feet for use as a floor or table fan; these feet must be removed before window installation.
