It is meant to have a 4 inch duct attached to the outside of it, so it would be nominally smaller. 4 7/8 to 4 15/16"

This air kit does not include a damper, as the damper is generally built directly onto the opening of the fireplace that the air kit attaches to.

It Worked
I was so happy when I finally found a vent for my fireplace air intake. The Majestic AK24 air vent is attached at the outside wall of my house, at the other side of our fireplace. The only reason that I didn't give five stars is that I wish there were more directions and scenario for different situations.
Parts were made available.
Needed more directions and scenarios.

Don't Forget to Order This Outside Air Kit
We have HVAC returns on the wall opposite our eFireplace insert. We noticed that when the central heater turned on, some smoke from the fireplace was drawn into the living room and the returns. By adding this outside air venting, the problem was solved. The smoke goes up the chimney when the heater is used.
This kit gives you the two "ends" and you purchase the flexible ducting. We were able to wind the ducting around the back of the fireplace, through the floor, into the basement and out the basement wall. It worked great for avoiding going through the wall directly behind the fireplace (which is a dining room).
