How does this cap attach to the pipe and what is the draw band it says needed?

This cap is only able to securely attach to Majestic's SK8 double-wall chimney pipe, which has an 8-inch inside diameter and an 11-inch outside diameter. The draw band referred to is the storm collar that goes around the pipe, below this cap, between the bottom of the cap and the flashing/cover. For this, you would need the DB-8 draw band.

This cap would only be appropriate with Majestic SK8 chimney, however, we will likely be able to locate a cap that will work for you. If you currently own a prefabricated wood burning fireplace, please provide the make and model number. If you own a wood stove, there may be a sticker located on the outside of each chimney section showing the brand and part number. If none of this is known, please confirm that the chimney is for a wood stove and has an 8 inch inner, 10 inch outer diameter with insulating material in between the inner and outer sections.

Is this product stainless steel?

All series of Majestic piping has a stainless steel inner wall and galvanized steel outer wall(s). If any portion of the chimney is exposed to the elements, it is recommended to clean and paint the outer galvanized wall.

flu cap
Not the best flu cap. Several spot welds on this cap were broken upon opening the box it came in. I had to drill and screw in place of what the welds were meant to hold.
Looks nice, seems to be tight for now. Hope it lasts. These caps take a beating in high wind conditions.
