I have a 12-inch pipe, is this a true 12-inch diameter?
The 12-inch designation on this Metal-Fab Type B Round Chimney Pipe Support Plate refers to the inner diameter of the compatible pipe. Metal-Fab Type B B-Vent pipes are sized by their inner diameter, meaning a 12-inch Metal-Fab Type B pipe does have a true 12-inch inside diameter. This support plate (model 12MSP) is designed to fit a 12-inch Metal-Fab Type B B-Vent system. It is important to note that the plate installs around the outside of the pipe, so its center opening is larger than 12 inches to accommodate the pipe's outer diameter. The 12-inch measurement indicates the pipe's inside diameter, not the plate's opening size. If you require the exact opening dimension of the plate, we can confirm this measurement with Metal-Fab. You can also find more information in the Metal-Fab B-Vent brochure. If your 12-inch pipe is a different brand than Metal-Fab, please specify the make, as B-Vent systems are brand-specific, and we can then confirm the correct support plate.
