With Monessen, you have a diverse lineup of fireplaces to choose from. This Monessen 42 Inch Exacta Circulating Clean Face Vent Free Gas Firebox is designed to fit in with almost any home decor. And because this firebox is vent-free you can install it anywhere in your home. Vent-free fireplaces don't need a chimney to exhaust its fumes. That's because vent-free fireplaces burn all the exhaust while it's on. You can even install it in that old fireplace and bring your hearth back to life.
WARNING: This product and the fuels used to operate this product (liquid propane or natural gas), and the products of combustion of such fuels, can expose you to chemicals including benzene, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm. Please Note: This is for the firebox only, no logs are included.

Is this a zero rear clearance unit?
Yes, this unit is designed to be framed around with 2"x4" construction. You can see the framing dimensions on page 8 of this manual.

What are the rear width and mid-width dimensions of this fireplace? So I can determine which size logs to purchase.
The rear width of the unit opening is 30 3/8" and the front is 38 7/8. This firebox sufficiently allows for a vent free log set of 24"-30"

The blower is installed in the rear of the lower control cavity under the main firebox.

This is a listing for the firebox only. The log set and burner that you purchase to place inside the firebox will need to be purchased in propane.
