When mounting this unit on a masonry fireplace without glass doors, if the mounting brackets are fastened through the bottom of the bracket to the lintel, should the brackets also be fastened to the front of the fireplace masonry via the middle holes of the bracket also? Will mounting the bracket via the single screw through the lintel be sufficient to support the hood?

It is recommended to mount this hood using all the available holes in the unit. The center hole would not be sufficient to support the hood.

This hood has a depth of 4" and the width is adjustable from 28" to 48". The hood can be surface mounted above any fireplace, but not directly affixed to the appliance,

Without knowing the mantel clearances listed in the product literature for your fireplace and without the mantel shelf projection from the wall above the fireplace, I can only suggest considering the HomeSaver Mantel Heat Shield.

While this hood could be installed on the wall above the black metal facing of your fireplace, this is not made to be affixed to any direct vent fireplace.

This hood is designed for mounting to the existing masonry fireplace face, rather than the factory-built cabinet. Mounting it to your fireplace face would require modification.

Great replacement fireplace hood
Simple to set up and very easy to install. Looks good on the fireplace and does a nice job of deflecting heat out and away from our fireplace trim work and mantle. Exactly what we were looking for.
