Since no venting is required, the 33" Solstice Traditional Vent-Free Fireplace Inserts with IPI Controls by Monessen makes for a fast, easy, and affordable installation. Available in either propane or natural gas, this fireplace boasts a BTU output of 25,001 to 30,000 and features a standard blower that powers up the heat output. It even operates without power, making it a dependable source of heat during power outages. And lighting your fireplace is simple with its fuel saving intermittent pilot control system.

This unit is said to "operable without power for warmth during power outages". What is the required voltage/limits?
This fireplace is equipped with an IPI control valve that operates on 6 volts. The 6 volt DC adapter plugs into the fireplace junction box A/C power supply. It is equipped with a battery back-up which will operate the unit for approximately 48 hours in the event of a power failure using on/off function only.
