How deep does the wall have to be to allows this unit to fit flush and or a little bit sticking past the wall?

This particular model can be framed into an enclosure and the depth required is 15 1/4 inches. This will put the face of the insert flush with the front of the enclosure.

This unit is said to "operable without power for warmth during power outages". What is the required voltage/limits?

This fireplace is equipped with an IPI control valve that operates on 6 volts. The 6 volt DC adapter plugs into the fireplace junction box A/C power supply. It is equipped with a battery back-up which will operate the unit for approximately 48 hours in the event of a power failure using on/off function only.

What are IPI controls vs the other option?

IPI stands for "intermittent pilot ignition," which is an electronic ignition system eliminates the need for a standing pilot light. The other option is a millivolt/standing pilot system that uses no electricity for the burner.
