Where do you "hide" the propane tank? Is it hidden inside the fire bowl? How do I look at the rock options?

No, the propane tank would need to be placed nearby but it will not fit inside this bowl. You could opt to purchase the Prism Hardscapes Mod Propane Tank Enclosure for this purpose. You can see the media options in the "Choose Additional Decorative Glass Media" section under the main photo.

Can I use this with a propane line instead of a propane tank?

These bowls cannot house a propane tank within them. You would need to run a propane line from an external tank source.
