Each set of gas logs looks like the aged, charred split oak wood cured for seasons that you remember. The logs not only look great, but are constructed of the highest-quality materials in the industry and reinforced with steel rods. The charred look of the logs and the burnt-through bottom log that gives you a view of the flame and embers adds to the authentic look. The gas flames dancing realistically through the holes in the top logs provide the finishing touch. You don't need to give up the homey look of split wood and you don't need to break your back trying to fill up the woodpile. All you need is a set of Real Fyre Charred Aged Split Oak Gas Logs by Peterson and you and your family can continue to have your winters the way you like them. This gas log set is a Vent Free Gas Logs Set. Vent-free gas logs (also called Ventless gas logs), which operate with the chimney flue closed, will not give you that roaring fire effect- the flame is not as realistic or as high as you'll find with vented logs. But, vent-free logs are an efficient heat source because 100% of the heat generated stays in your home. You'll often see vent-free logs referred to as "vent-free heaters" because that is essentially what they are. They consist of U-shaped burners with cement logs stacked on top of the heating element. Most sets have a thermostatic control that helps maintain a consistent room temperature. Vent-free heaters add moisture to the air, so it's important to install them in a room with proper ventilation to avoid formation of mildew. Before installing any gas log system, check your local and state codes. In some localities, vent-free heaters are not permitted. Vent-free heaters are not permitted in bedrooms, bathrooms or recreational vehicles, and must be installed in an area where curtains, furniture, clothing or other flammable objects are at least 36 inches away from the perimeter of the heater. Vent-free heater installation also is not recommended in high traffic, windy or drafty areas. This Ventless Gas Logs Set comes with Real Fyre Vent Free burner system, ODS safety system, pre-assembled valve, lava-fyre granules, glowing embers, custom grate, and connector kit. This gas log set comes with a On/Off Remote Ready Pilot System. The pilot will stay lit at all times. The on/off remote ready pilot system allows you to control your system using a remote control, wall switch, or the manual knob on the burner system. Love our new fireplace!
We replaced our old stinky logs with this awesome remote control system. The logs are beautiful and the fire is perfect! Looks so real! But the best part is may be the remote control system. Easy to install and works like a dream! And it warms our large family room quickly and beautifully.

A great addition to pollution reduction
The propane log set was installed the day before outside temperatures dropped below freezing, and has been used every day since. When we ran out of burnable wood, and to reduce emissions, the ventless log became our choice. The installation, including testing, was intricate, exacting, and highly successful. Detailed instructions came with the set, with all that was needed* packed inside thick-walled boxes.
Detailed instructions. All parts included. Ability to order from dimensions of firebox lining, not its brand/part. Quick delivery. No need to replace the existing steel insert/chimney lining.
Instructions include several models, which can result in confusion about steps. A very small supply of glowing embers, need to order more to cover blue areas.

Real Frye Ventless Fireplace
This fireplace met our expectations, the ability to control the flame. This is a great advantage unlike the one we had before. That one we purchased before from a big box store worked well but gave me a headache and felt like all moisture was withdraw from the air and from my skin. This fireplace cost a lot more but is proving to be worth it. Really enjoying the warmth and it has a nice realistic look with the embers.
Installing the fireplace was not hard, the gas line were installed with the other one.
It is important to purchase the correct size logs, this feature was helpful buying online.
Variable flame - definitely a plus

Very pleased with my New gas logs. The fire is so real looking and the embers just add that special realistic touch.
My old set never looked as pretty or natural as the Real Frye Charred Aged Split Oak Ventless Natural Gas Logs set does.

These logs were shipped quickly, arrived in perfect shape and look better than the photos online. We had a plumber install them in a new fireplace. He had no trouble and they look great. The remote is an especially nice feature. Couldn't be happier!

Wonderful log set - Great Quality!
This is the third fireplace log set I have purchased. The first two were purchased from a big box store and were returned because they did not even sit solidly on the ground. This one is well made of high quality materials. The logs are very realistic and even the packaging was over the top the instructions were easy to follow and it was installed in about an hour. Great addition to our home!

Mostly good but....
The logs sat for 10 days after receiving them. When the gas people came to set up the whole system, the first two logs he pulled out were cracked! I put a claim in with this store on 12-30-14 and just today got notice that the logs have shipped. I am anticipating getting them by Friday the 16th. but it could be next week. Also, had one incidence of the pilot light going out for some reason. Other than that the people that I have dealt with were friendly and professional.

Thrilled With This Log Set!
Shipping was fast and everything was very well packaged. We hired a plumber to connect the gas to the unit and to check for gas leaks, but then I installed the rest of the system on my own in order to save money on installation. My husband was impressed! We love the adjustable flame and the optional remote and receiver were worth the additional cost. I agree with other reviewers that it is really important to read the manual before installation. The set looks realistic even when it's not lit and we saved money by purchasing this online versus through a local retailer.
Beautiful, emits a good amount of heat, easy to operate.
Do have to hire a plumber for part of the installation.

Looks and Works Great
These are just the right size for our fireplace and produce more heat than expected. With the electronic remote and pilot kit my wife loves being able to walk in and have a fire with the touch of a button. By setting the temp. on the remote the room stays at a just the right temp. Very pleased with the flame and logs appearance.
Easy to install. Thankful for their call back on the order explaining that I did not need to order the deluxe remote and canceled the order for the remote and gave me credit back on my order.

Beats Other Gas Fires
I have owned a gas log fire for a while in another room in the house, but I must say that having a remote and the embers make this fire much more attractive and easy to use. I saw this unit first in my brother's house, but decided I had to have one.

Review for
This is the perfect log fireplace, but, when you get it, be aware that the remote control has one rather strange property: When you turn the fireplace on manually (which you must do by holding down both the up-arrow and off button simultaneously, contrary to the instructions) it automatically switches the remote from manual to temperature-control, and the fireplace will turn itself down as soon as the pre-set temperature on the remote has been reached. If you happen to be testing the fireplace out on a warm day, this can be a problem. Set the temperature for a high value and you can subvert this behavior.

Very Powerful
This fireplace heats an area the size of three separate rooms (our house has a combined kitchen, dining, and living room), and it doesn't use much gas at all to do it. I really like not having to worry about cleaning up after a fire.

Perfect Except for Pilot Light Placement
After everything was put together the fireplace looked great. I did have a little bit of trouble installing the gas though. I think that they might want to change where the pilot light is located to make the installation easier. I had to get a replacement pilot light because I damaged the first during installation. After it was completely installed and repaired, it warms the house well.

Top-of-the-Line
The only way I can think of to improve this product would be if they gave you free money with it. Everything was easy to put together and get hooked up, it came without a blemish, and the fire looks as real as they say. It is truly a top notch gas log fire.
