Each set of gas logs looks like the split oak wood, cured for seasons that you remember. The logs not only look great, but are constructed of the highest-quality materials in the industry and reinforced with steel rods. The gas flames dancing realistically through the holes in the top logs provide the finishing touch. You don't need to give up the homey look of split wood and you don't need to break your back trying to fill up the woodpile. All you need is a set of Real Fyre Split Oak Gas Logs by Peterson and you and your family can continue to have your winters the way you like them. This gas log set is a Vent Free Gas Logs Set. Vent-free gas logs (also called Ventless gas logs), which operate with the chimney flue closed, will not give you that roaring fire effect- the flame is not as realistic or as high as you'll find with vented logs. But, vent-free logs are an efficient heat source because 100% of the heat generated stays in your home. You'll often see vent-free logs referred to as "vent-free heaters" because that is essentially what they are. They consist of U-shaped burners with cement logs stacked on top of the heating element. Most sets have a thermostatic control that helps maintain a consistent room temperature. Vent-free heaters add moisture to the air, so it's important to install them in a room with proper ventilation to avoid formation of mildew. Before installing any gas log system, check your local and state codes. In some localities, vent-free heaters are not permitted. Vent-free heaters are not permitted in bedrooms, bathrooms or recreational vehicles, and must be installed in an area where curtains, furniture, clothing or other flammable objects are at least 36 inches away from the perimeter of the heater. Vent-free heater installation also is not recommended in high traffic, windy or drafty areas. This Ventless Gas Logs Set comes with Real Fyre Vent Free burner system, ODS safety system, pre-assembled valve, lava-fyre granules, glowing embers, custom grate, and connector kit. This gas log set is a ventless manual pilot system. The pilot will stay lit at all times. The log set is lit manually using the manual valve on the side of the burner system.. Ventless gas logs
Real Fyre 30†gas logs arrived in great shape. Installation was a breeze. Pay close attention to alignment slots for log placement. I used a picture of the advertised view when aligning them. Saw the slots where the pieces fit and everything lined up allowing flames to not come in contact with logs. The connections were well described in the directions. The placement was described well for electronics away from the burner. I had a plumber check for gas valve leaks and hook up the flex gas line. I needed a foot-long extension as the supplied flex gas line was too short. All in all pretty easily installed completely in 1 hour. I left the dampener barely cracked and smell nothing with the dampener completely shut there was a slight odor.
The logs look authentic and are well-made. It gives off plenty of heat. It is easy to turn on the fire and adjust the flame height.

Looks Great Best Price
We purchased the Real Fire 24" Split Oak Gas Logs and could not be happier with this product. It looks great and by purchasing it at eFireplaceStore we saved $350 over what our local vendor was charging for the same item. It was delivered in 4 days and shipped for free. split oak ventless purchase
I had a set of vented 30 inch Peterson split oak logs for 25 years but because of continued hurricane problems with the chimney chase we took down the chimney and replace the vented Peterson logs with the 30-inch, non-vented split oak set. I had some reservations because of the reported smell and overheating of the mantel above the logs. Both are a factor and should be recognized. First off the smell will go away after about 10 hours of burning. Now with a closed flue, you are burning a hydrocarbon and there is a different smell associated with that but I don't find it offensive at all. For extra precaution, I installed a CO detector much closer than the recommended distance and It has never been set off. Secondly, the logs do produce a tremendous amount of heat primarily because the vent is closed. Because of this if the base of your mantel is within 24 inches from the top of the firebox I would monitor this closely as it will get pretty hot. I doubt It will burst into flames because of the heat but it is an issue. What I did that helped because it's only about 12 inches from my firebox top is to run a ceiling fan in the den on reverse to aid in air circulation and also help move heat around the room. It definitely helped and am comfortable with the level of heat build-up on the mantel base. In summary, I am very please with my purchase and absolutely love the remote control. Because of its convenience, we use them a number of times every day for ambiance and heat.

Should have done this years ago
Easy 5 star review. Converted wood fireplace to your Evening Fyre Split Log vent free system. By reversing ceiling fan your vent free set keeps the den at a comfortable temperature, even with the 25 foot vaulted ceiling ( picture enclosed ). Had gas installed by plumber and log set up was a snap. Pilot lighting lit as per the instructions and had the fire going in a relative short time. Had it up and going in time for Christmas and received many favorable comments.

I ordered the Real Frye Split Oak lag set on a Tuesday. I got a notification of shipment on Wednesday, complete with tracking numbers. Burner arrived Thursday and logs on Friday. Great turn around on order. Well packed and complete upon arrival. I had local gas provider install and he was very satisfied with assembly and the look of the logs. Would have bought from him but efireplace saved me about $100. Logs look great, do not smell, remote is nice. Could not be happier with purchase from efireplace.

Great Experience and Great Addition to the Home
Each step with eFireplace was fantastic.Step 1 - I shopped the internet, and eFireplace had the best presentment and pricing of all other sites visitied. The information I needed was available and presented in a logical way. And the prices were notably better than any other e-retailer.Step 2- Installation had some bumps and required some questions, but eFireplaceStore was there to help. I was installing a ventless gas log set in a solid fuel firebox, so had some unique questions about the placement of the gas supply line. Chris took the extra effort to call the manufacturer and get the real answer to my question. I also installed remote controls for this see thru fireplace, and had questions on multiple remote control receivers. Tyler actually set up my scenario on the bench in his shop, and tested the scenario in various ways. This was the kind of customer service I expect at 5 star luxury hotels. Fantastic.Step 3 - Flip it on and enjoy. Can't describe how much we are enjoying the new fireplace. It is a beautiful addition to the house, and very cozy. The only downside is that the family will probably want to run it year round.In summary, best prices in the market, exemplary customer service, and a high quality product - this was an experience that warmed the heart.

Good product
Ordered the item and it arrived in a jiffy securely packed so all parts were accounted for and in good condition. Our installer had refused to install another model that I had purchased from a big box store as he declared it unsafe. However, he praised this unit. We have not used it much yet as it has been mild but when we did thought it looked great and gave off an adequate amount of heat.
We mainly purchased this as a backup for a power failure. Not only does it give off a fair amount of heat but is also attractive. I especially like the look of the glowing embers.
Perhaps because the sticker fell off the control knob or for some other reason I find it difficult to use the settings and accidentally turn it off when going from pilot to on/high or on/low and back again. Also it gives off an odor I dislike but the owner's manual assured that the smell will dissipate after the break in period.

Beautiful Log Set
I live in an area that has frequent power outages. I put these ventless logs in a 1940's coal burning fireplace. They fit this small space perfectly and add to what was otherwise a bare space.
Very easy to install and very wonderful for heat. Small two bedroom home is now warm when I have power outage.

Great Price on quality product!
I went to my local gas log retailer in my area and these were selling for way higher than on this website. When I received my logs, the main log was broken. Not a problem, stuff happens. Called customer service and had a new log within 2 weeks. Great product and customer service! You will not be disappointed.

Great Heat Source
I am very pleased with my purchase of the 20 inch split oak logs. It throws far more heat than I expected and is doing a wonderful job in this cold weather. I purchased to take the chill out of the room, but find it can heat the intended space and much much more.

Very Happy with This Purchase
These gas logs have been a great addition to our home. First a small negative--when you install them you may initially notice an unpleasant smell when you burn them. Don't panic--this is apparently just some sort of chemical or something like that that has to burn off. The odor will go away. We like these logs because of a number of reasons. We like the ability to turn it on and off with a remote. We like the fact that we're saving money while keeping the house warmer than we ever could before. It's so nice to be able to start a fire without messing with the flue, ashes, dirty logs, etc. We also like the look of the logs and how they improve the overall decor of our home. We had one small issue that I called customer service about, and they were so nice and helpful. So, yes, we're happy and would recommend these logs to you.

Our parents bought us this for Christmas, knowing that we had trouble heating our condo because of its high ceilings. High Quality
I bought not only the logs but also a nice glass door and the remote control that allows you to adjust the flame from across the room. I like the fact that it's vent-free and I can keep the damper closed. I could tell the logs were great quality just by seeing how heavy they were when we installed them--and the installation was easy, too! It puts out a lot of heat. I have no complaints and am so glad we installed this!
