    Rutland's Fireplace Mortar Compound in Gray comes in 10.3 oz cartridges and is formulated to bond firebrick to firebrick or to patch fireplace fireboxes. This fireplace mortar compound - when fire cured - becomes a silicate product that sets rock hard - as strong and hard as the firebrick itself! This mortar can withstand high heat temperatures of up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit, and the convenient cartridge allows for easy repointing of fireplace brick within the firebox. Not intended for external use.

    Can I use this to repaint the mortar inside my fireplace?

    Indeed, as this item is rated to withstand temps as high as 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, it will work perfectly well for your application.
