What is the direction of the blower air? Does the blower send the air straight up from the rear?

    1 Answer
The blower on this unit is designed to blow straight up the rear of the unit, inside of the heat shield. It will then continue through the shield and out on the top of the of the unit. It, unfortunately, is not designed to be mounted in the opposite direction.

Like all blowers we offer, measurements are not provided since blowers are tested and listed for the hearth systems we also offer and using an incompatible blower would void warranty terms for these systems.

Bath fans list the noise level in sones. Can you tell me the noise level of this model? The description, "ultra quiet," is subjective. I'd also like to know the dimensions to see if it will fit by fireplace.
    1 Answer
The manufacturer does not list the volume in sones or a decibal rating and no dimensions are available. Like all blowers we offer, this blower is only safety tested and listed for use with hearth systems made by the same manufacturer.

The dimensions of this blower are 17.5" wide x 6.5 " deep x 5" high. Does this include the triangular piece on the top, if not is it removable? Is there a schematic drawing available?
    1 Answer
Per the manufacturer, the 5 inch height is just the housing on its own. The mounting bracket add an additional 1 1/2 inches. It is riveted to the housing, but could be removed by drilling the rivets out.

Should have bought this long ago
We replaced a 40+ year old wood stove two years ago with an EPA approved efficient stove. Our retailer thought it would heat well enough without the fan so we didn't get it then. About the same time we bought a fireplace insert with fan for our daughter's house. What a difference the fan makes. Spreads heat faster and wider than the stove alone (which has an enviro conduction fan).
Mostly easy installation. Minor fit alignment for one mounting screw.

    Drolet blower fits perfectly
My husband & I purchased a used wood-burning stove for our 4-season porch. Once we got it home, however, my husband was disappointed that the blower-unit that came with it was not the right fit for that model stove. Thanks to your help we found the correct blower and it fits perfectly. I ordered the Drolet Quick Connect Thermodisc too as a bonus and my husband loves it! We are both very pleased. Excellent service, availability, and delivery time. Thank you!
Fits our stove perfectly. Our stove is in a long room and this fan moves the heat efficiently from one end of the room to the other. Much quieter then the "wrong fit" fan that came with our used stove. Easy to install. The title is "ultra-quiet" which I would interpret as almost silent, however you can hear this fan. It is NOT LOUD by any means (and much quieter than many fans) but you CAN hear it. Fortunately, our stove is located AWAY our TV so it is more of a background noise and does not interfere with us hearing the TV.

Efficient, well made and saving money
I am using this with a Fisher fireplace insert and it has greatly improved circulation of heat throughout the house. My insert did not come with a blower and has a flange at the top of my insert that holds this blower in place without coming in direct contact with the wood stove insert. The blower unit at full speed is a little noisy but at 3/4 speed is hardly noticeable in the family room. Temperatures at the far end of the home have increased by 5 degrees on average compared to same outside temperatures last year.
    - Saving money - have not had to turn on the electric heat pump this year! - Quality of unit is above average and design is good. - Variable speed control is built into unit. - long 8 ft heavy duty electric cord - It's a little noisy at high speed - for my application - designed specifically for Drolet stoves - need a generic unit.

Throws a lot of hot air
The fan is fairly quiet at the lowest speed (I would not say ultra-quiet), and fairly noisy at top speed. It was easy to install however the supplied screws were too large (diameter) for the holes in my stove which is a Drolet Escape 1800. Overall it performs well and really throws a lot of heat as would be expected. I thought my stove would cool off more at the low speed setting, but the temperature stays the same and my house seems to heat up faster. I use the fan about 80% of the time now while running my stove.
Well-made Moves a lot of air Fitment wasn't perfect
