in this picture of the stone age, does it come as actually shown with the base? Does this unit come in a gas option also?

No, this photo shows the fireplace installed on a custom-built hearth platform with locally-obtained veneer materials. Please see the attached photo showing the appearance of the materials as they arrive (parts arrived unassembled). There is no gas option for this model.

Can I mount a TV on this fireplace?
1 Answer
A mantle needs to be a minimum of 25" above the opening of this fireplace. A TV should always have additional clearance. It is probably a poor choice for a fireplace with a TV above it. Consider one of the metal fireplaces that can use heat redirection ductwork to reduce heat from the top of the fireplace under the TV instead.

Is it possible to construct Stone Age Manufacturing 24 in Contractor Fireplace Kit indoors and then add a wood-burning insert followed by the correct venting?

Is fire brick required for this product?

The firebrick is not required, but it is strongly recommended. Please note that the 24" Standard Series model includes the firebrick, the hearth, riser legs, and an extra flue section.

Do I have to use firebrick inside? Can I paint the inside black with heat-resistant paint?

The firebrick is optional for this particular model. You can paint the interior, but the paint will be susceptible to peeling and cracking over time.

This fireplace does not come with any facade stone. The stone will need to be sourced locally. You can find a diagram of what the fireplace does include by clicking here. It is not necessary to anchor this unit down.
