I am interested in the 36" contractor fireplace kit, and I am planning to reinforce the concrete underneath it. Can you tell me what size the footprint is for this item?

The footprint of the product is 46" W x 33" D. I would recommend referring to their manual for footer suggestions and sizing based on what type of material you plan to use to finish around the fireplace. Here is the manual and that information is on page 4.

How much mortar is required to build the fireplace?

The manual states it will take 3 to 5 buckets/bags for kit finishing and 1/8 - 1/4 buckets/bags for additional chimney (per chimney section)

On the webpage for this specific item, please reference photo 6 of 6 on the main page. This fireplace kit comes with masonry materials to complete the fireplace. This includes the firebox, chimney throat, and (3) 6" tall chimney sections. This fireplace kit does not include facing materials, chimney cap, firebrick, or hearth, those are purchased separately.

Can you advise how far from the patio roof the freestanding fireplace needs to be and if the chimney needs to be a certain height?

If the fireplace is placed 10 or more feet away from your home, no additional chimney height will be required for this unit.

We actually do not list the hearth available for purchase separately, because it is available packaged within the Stone Age Manufacturing 36" Standard Series Fireplace with Arched Lintel seen here. This package includes the hearth and firebrick, as well as an additional section of chimney height. If you were to special order the hearth separately from this Contractor unit, the price would exceed that of the Standard Series model.

We cannot provide the veneer material you would choose to finish the fireplace's look (an example is shown in the main photo), so the only additional items you need from us would be the firebrick kit and perhaps a chimney cap.
