Does this throw off heat? I ask because it has a glass window.
Yes, this fireplace will put off heat. There is a blower included to assist with moving the heat out and away from the fireplace to enjoy in the living space. The glass front is part of the direct-vent fireplace requirement as this is a sealed combustion chamber.

Easy to Use & Clean: Superior Gas Fireplace!
