Does "electric ignition" mean a light switch can be installed to start the fire?

1. While the electronic ignition does not refer to how the unit can be turned on and off, you can indeed install a wall switch to control the fireplace. The electronic ignition refers to the fact that the unit does not require a standing pilot light to operate. It requires a 120V connection for the ignition process, but there is a battery backup that can be used in the event of a power outage.
