Is a glass front required?
Outdoor vent-free fireplaces will not use any glass in front, only screens. The only exception to this is that vent-free linear will have a small glass wind guard (about 4" tall running the length of the burner) to protect the flame and pilot, as they will typically have fewer logs or media to block the wind.
