Will your WRE3036WH, WRE3036WS box accept ventless logs?

While these fireplaces will indeed accept a ventless gas log set, technically, by code, you are still required to have the woodburning chimney components installed to this firebox. The alternative is to purchase a similar outdoor vent-free gas firebox, which of course does not have a flue collar.

I am wondering about the waterproof nature of this firebox. We are planning on adding the fireplace to a roof patio and we would like to know if the fireplace is adequate enough to keep rain/snow/etc. out, or if a water proofing barrier is needed under it. Thank you.

This fireplace is designed for outdoor use. It's stainless steel construction will protect it from the elements. However, the unit is not water-proof, per se. Your roof will need to be completely weatherproofed before adding in this fireplace.

Does it have a stainless steel trim pieces to go around the outside and does it have a built in damper?

This will have a built in damper and the front stainless facing may be covered with noncombustible stone or tile of your choosing, but there will be no trim pieces available to go around the edges of the fireplace to cover any gaps between the firebox and your finishing materials.

Absolutely Fabulous
We had the Superior 36" 3000 series fireplace installed on a new screened porch at our lakeside home.
We wanted a fireplace on the porch, but the focal point of the room is the view of the lake, so the 36" box installed in a corner was a perfect choice. We had it framed with just the chimney coming out the top so the view is as unobstructed as possible.
We finished it with a hearth made from the same rough timbers that support the roof, a "mantle fascia" of driftwood from the lake, and some mosaic tile.
The fireplace draws perfectly in all weather, looks great, and appears well constructed for outdoor installation. We are super pleased.
