Do I have to use a venting pipe?

Yes, this appliance is required to be connected to a 6" stainless steel insulated liner per the manufacturer. This positive connection will go from the appliance to the termination cap.

Ventis HEI 240
I’ve had my Ventis HEI240 for about a month now. Super impressed.
The Ventis 240 is wonderful. It’s the easiest stove to light ever. Burn time is as advertised, about 8 to 9 hours will leave you a small pile of coals which relights easily. Within 5 minutes I have a roaring fire. To get longer burn times, you need to close the air control almost all the way. Which as the owner's manual will tell will leave some brown stains on the glass. Hotter fires with the air control about half-open leaves no staining.
To clean the glass take a damp paper towel and dip it in the fine ash from the stove and rub the window. It cleans easily.
The Ventis hei240 gets 5 stars.
Love the big window. Burns a third less wood and makes more heat than my previous insert. Blower is quiet. Because of the efficiency of the burn and high temps maintained in the fire box my chimney stays very clean.
Occasionally you will get a small rattle from the blower. A couple pieces of duct tape between the blower frame and the ash lip stopped the rattle. Yes , they are completely hidden from view.
