Is there some sort of drill bit attachment i will need to connect the rods to my hammer drill?
By Kevin E. - Fireplace Specialist on January 19, 2012

    Answer:
As long as your hammer drill has an adjustable chuck, the only adaptor needed is the 1-Foot starter section available on this page.

I have a regency insert stove. I would like to clean my insert from the bottom up. Will these rods be able to be used in that fashion ? I have used the Gardus system in the past but they break and come apart. Do you sell a weed wacker like head for these rods ?
By Kevin E. - Fireplace Specialist on December 19, 2011

    Answer:
These should work fine for your application. However, being made of steel they do not offer as much flexibility as some of our other rods. So, depending on your insert and the presence of a secondary air tube or similar item, they may not be ideal. Of course, though, our other rods are not designed for use in drills. The closest tool we have to what you describe is our Creosote Removal Chains. Please follow the below link to view this item.

Can I use these rods to clean a chimney through the clean out door in the basement? I would need the rod to bend at 90 degrees.
By eFireplaceStore on December 30, 2014

    Answer:
Unfortunately, no. The steel rods we carry are only able to flex at up to a 15 degree maximum. Anything greater would require either top down cleaning or use of highly flexible nylon rods, such as the SuperFlex ButtonLok Nylon Chimney Cleaning Rod - 1/2 Inch x 3 Foot.

I would recommend this item to a friend.
The quarter inch rods worked great at removing the chimney liner. They stayed connected and flexed enough to make it easy to control the spinning rod. I recommend purchasing the tool for disassembling the rods.
    Pros:
    It worked as expected.
    Cons:
It was difficult to remove the sections.
