I have a wood stove Is there a fire starter product for this?
By Collin C. - NFI Master Hearth Professional on March 4, 2014

Answer:
Both the AW Perkins Fire Starters - 24 Squares Per Box and the SBI Fire Lighting Gel - 16 Ounce Container are safe for use in a wood stove. Fatwood is not recommended, as it can leave a residue accumulation on the interior of the firebox. Mechanical gas starters also are not able to be used inside a wood stove.

I need the gas bar that goes under the fireplace grill to get a wood-burning fire started. What is that called and where do I find it?
on November 9, 2012

Answer:
We do have a few gas starter pipes that will fit your need, though the exact item will depend on the gas type and where the gas line enters the firebox. Please see these items: For Natural Gas: Natural Gas Starter 1 Natural Gas Starter 2 Natural Gas Starter 3 For Propane: Propane Starter Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

In the past, the only way to start a wood fire was with kindling and a lot of hard work. But now, thanks to modern innovations, you have plenty of options when it comes to starting a fire. We carry fatwood, several varieties of gelled fire starter, firelighter pots, and even fire starters made from pine cones. Many of our fire starters also come with decorative holders, making them ideal gifts for any fireplace owner.
